Frame Running Development Camp & World Abilitysport International Cup 2024 - World-class Para Athletics

In week 28, FrameRunners from around the world gathered for training and competition. This year's Camp was held at Bagsværd Stadium, which provided a beautiful setting for the Camp, once again showcasing the potential of Frame Running.

There was plenty of speed and joy as Parasport Frederiksberg opened the doors for the 27th annual Frame Running Camp and Cup. This year, 122 athletes from 21 countries participated in training, competitions, and other social activities.

New this year was the introduction of a Master Cup, where participants aged 30 and up could compete in age-grouped competitions. This was done to provide athletes with more equitable competition opportunities. There was great participation in this year's Master Cup, a measure that proved to be a great success.

Besides the Masters Cup, this year we also had a record number of participants in the junior cup - ages 8-15. This means that the stars of the future are well on their way, which we are very excited about.

The chairman of the local organizing committee (L,O.C) Mansoor Siddiqi, states: “It has been a good week that shows how many different types of athletes can benefit from FrameRunning. We are especially pleased to see a record number of athletes and a record number of countries choosing to spend a week with us. It means a lot to us to see new athletes joining every year, as well as the development of athletes who return year after year. We call the Camp a Frame Running Development Camp, and it truly is a development Camp. We had 38 participants from 17 countries in our coaching course. This really shows that Frame Running has worldwide interest, and it bodes well for the disciplines future.”

This year, the Frame Running  Camp & international Cup was moved to Bagsværd Stadium, where the many exciting competitions were held. Despite weather challenges, all races were completed, even if some extra hours were needed on Friday.

The  World Abilitysport international Cup was held for the first time under WPA (World Para Athletics) regulations. Therefore , the Cup has reached the highest possible international level, which is a major advancement for the event.

We would like to thank Gladsaxe Municipality, Bagsværd Stadium, and Bagsværd Athletics Club for their good cooperation, and thanks to our sponsors, especially Elsass Fonden and BPA Support.

Parasport Frederiksberg would like to thank everyone who has helped make this Camp possible, and a big thanks to the volunteers who make it possible to hold our camp year after year. We look forward to welcoming the world's FrameRunners to next year's Camp!"
