For the 26th time, Frederiksberg Stadium will host the World AbilitySport International Frame Running Camp & Cup from July 19th to July 26th, 2023. 75 athletes from 18 countries will compete in the Danish-invented athletic discipline of Frame Running for people with impaired balance.

Frederiksberg Stadium will provide the venue for a global Frame Running camp, featuring training sessions, social activities, and competitions. The event is organized by Parasport Frederiksberg, in collaboration with World AbilitySport and Parasport Denmark.

The Frame Running Camp & Cup brings together athletes, assistants, and leaders from around the world. The camp focuses on training, classification, technical assistance, coach training, and knowledge exchange among participating countries. The culmination of the event is the World Abilitysport International Cup, held from July 23rd to July 25th, where top Frame Running athletes, including several Danish runners among the best in the discipline, compete in distances ranging from 40m to 5000m.

"We see a thriving international Frame Running community, which this event once again proves. I'm delighted that we can attract so many athletes from around the world, where the emphasis is not only on cultivating social relationships but also ensuring collective development of the sport and competition at the highest level. At the same time, we have a record-breaking participation in the coach training course held parallel to the camp," says Mansoor Siddiqi, who, along with former wheelchair racer Connie Hansen, invented the Frame Running discipline in 1991. He continues, "These events are an important step towards achieving geographical expansion, technical know-how, and increased competitive intensity, thus improving the foundation for including Frame Running in the athletics program at the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles."

Frame Running is an innovative sport for individuals with impaired balance. A Frame Runner is a specially built three-wheeled "running bike" without pedals, which eliminates the issue of balance. Therefore, Frame Running is an ideal sports opportunity for individuals with conditions such as arthritis, amputations, and cerebral palsy.
