The Global Frame Running Movement Sees the Light of Day

A new global organization dedicated to Frame Running was officially founded on Sunday, 26 April, when representatives from around the world gathered for the founding general assembly of the Global Frame Running Movement.

The meeting was chaired by Karl Vilhelm Nielsen. Initiator Mansoor Siddiqi welcomed everyone on behalf of the working group – which was established during last year’s camp in Denmark to develop the basic structure for the Global Frame Running Movement – and presented the organization’s vision.

The new organization aims to promote Frame Running globally – both as a sport and as a social activity. The Global Frame Running Movement seeks to support the development of Frame Running at all levels worldwide.

The organization will be open to both individuals and other interest groups. Furthermore, the vision emphasizes research, knowledge sharing, and building a strong international platform for collaboration.

The Board

The following individuals were elected to the board:

  • Chair: Mansoor Siddiqi (Denmark)
  • Vice Chair: Cor van Brouwerhaven (Netherlands)
  • Treasurer: Cæcilie Nisbeth (Denmark)
  • Secretary: Helle Ladefoged (Denmark)
  • Board Member: Amy Tobin (Australia)
  • Board Member: Vicki Skure Eriksson (Sweden)
  • Board Member: Mary Grooms (USA)

The establishment of the Global Frame Running Movement is just the beginning. The board will now begin further developing the organization.

Possible initiatives include the launch of a newsletter, and the organization’s website will be continuously updated.

As was said at the close of the meeting: "This is the first step in building a global organization, where cooperation is key."

With ambitions to unite the world around Frame Running, expectations are high: Together, movement will be created – both on and off the track.
