In Memoriam – Peter Bang-Thygesen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Bang-Thygesen on May 22nd after a long period of illness. Peter was a driving force within the Frame Running community and played a significant role in the development of the sport over many years.

In recent years, Peter was especially known as the Team Manager for the Danish team at the annual Frame Running Camp & Cup. He was a constant and reliable presence and someone many people turned to. In his role as Team Manager, Peter’s caring and compassionate nature shone through. He always had an eye for those who needed support and was never hesitant to lend a helping hand. We will greatly miss Peter’s warm personality and dedication at the camp.

In addition to being Team Manager, Peter also served as the financial manager for the camp. In this role, he ensured that finances were handled with the same integrity and attention to detail that characterized Peter as a person.

Peter also served as treasurer for the athletics, recreational sports, and Frame Running department at Randers Real. He was a man deeply committed to his children’s sporting lives and over the years contributed in many different roles across a wide range of sports.

Professionally, Peter worked for many years as a schoolteacher at Hobro Rosendahl school before retiring a few years ago.

In his spare time, Peter had a great passion for football refereeing. He was active as a referee, referee developer, and chairman of the local referees’ association.

Peter leaves behind his sons, Lasse and Jeppe, and his wife, Susanne.

Our thoughts are with the family.

May Peter’s life and memory be honored.
